On Römerberg in Frankfurt stands the city’s Gothic town-hall complex — more than six centuries of civic architecture. The job was to record the form at high fidelity for archive and visualisation, without a heavy setup on the square.
One operator, no tripod, ten minutes
The FJD Trion P2 weighs 700 g. With RTK on site, one operator covered the monument in about ten minutes, with no tripod or external power. Multi-SLAM (LiDAR, vision, and RTK/PPK) held the path against curved stone bases and shade. Three built-in cameras colourised the cloud live in FJD Trion Scan on a tablet, so gaps showed before export.
Gaussian Splatting and a denser cloud
In FJD Trion Model the dataset went through 3D Gaussian Splatting for photoreal display. HyperDense+ increased density up to 5–7 times, toward millimetre spacing — useful for inscriptions and surface erosion, not only massing.
